If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly spot in the Omaha area, make sure to visit Pam Nelson Produce Farm. This popular destination has become one of our toddler’s absolute favorite places to explore. Every time we pass by, I’m met with an enthusiastic request, “Can we go back?” And, honestly, who can blame him?
Here’s a peek at why this farm has quickly become a must-visit for us:
Endless Adventures
There’s something about farms that sparks curiosity in kids, and Pam Nelson Produce is no exception. From the moment we arrive, my little one is off and running, eager to explore all the farm has to offer:
The Animals: What’s better than spending the day surrounded by friendly animals? My toddler is all about the goats, chickens, and pigs, but the real star of the show? A friendly kitten who always walks right up to him, ready to be petted. He’s absolutely smitten with her!
Corn Pit & Sand Pile: These are hands-down some of the best sensory experiences for toddlers. Whether he’s sinking his hands into the corn kernels or creating sandcastles, it’s hard to drag him away from these areas.
Tractors Galore: For a kid who is fascinated by cars and all things with wheels, this farm is heaven. He loves gazing at the tractors and has even named the ride around the farm the “tractor train ride.” I think the excitement of seeing these giant machines up close is a huge part of the farm’s appeal.
Stroller-Friendly (Mostly)
The farm is stroller-friendly, which makes it easy to explore if you’ve got a baby in tow. While it can be a bit bumpy in some areas, our baby wasn’t bothered at all. It’s totally manageable and a great option for families with little ones.
Comfortable Facilities
Parents will appreciate the air-conditioned bathrooms located in the barn by the corn pit. These bathrooms even have changing tables, making it convenient for those moments when you need to take care of baby essentials in a cool, comfortable space.
Don’t Forget the Treats!
What’s a farm visit without indulging in some delicious snacks? If you visit, do yourself a favor and try the strawberry ice cream It’s the perfect treat after a day of play, and I might even argue that it’s the best strawberry ice cream we’ve ever had!
Pro Tip: Beware the Toy Temptation
If you have a car-loving toddler like we do, be prepared for some tough negotiations when it’s time to leave. The farm has a charming gift shop with toys, and it’s almost impossible to exit without buying a tractor or toy car. While this adds a bit of a challenge to the exit strategy, it’s all part of the fun, right?
Pam Nelson Produce Farm has quickly become our go-to spot for a day filled with outdoor adventure, animal encounters, and some seriously tasty treats. It’s the perfect place for a family outing, especially for young children!
